Epic Games has once again expanded its Fortnite universe, this time with the inclusion of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse themed items and quests, featuring for the first time, the popular Marvel character Miles Morales.
The release coincides with the upcoming launch of the much-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One film.
This is not the first time the game has collaborated with superhero franchises, already boasting a collection of 60 Marvel-themed outfits.
However, this update puts the spotlight on Miles Morales, alongside the futuristic Miguel O’Hara, better known as Spider-Man 2099, for their grand debut in the Fortnite ecosystem.
Fortnite enthusiasts can get their hands on Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2099 skins through the game’s item shop, where they are individually available for 1,500 V-Bucks, approximately $12 each.
Gamers looking to fully embrace the Spider-Verse experience can opt for the Across the Spider-Verse bundle.
This package, besides the two skins, also comprises Spider-Ham’s Mallet Pickaxe, the 928 Axes Pickaxe, and an exclusive Fortnite Spider-Man wallpaper.
For those who already own the pickaxes, the bundle costs 1,600 V-Bucks, or around $12.50. Newcomers to these in-game weapons would need to shell out 3,500 V-Bucks, equivalent to just under $30.
Epic Games, the developers behind Fortnite, have hinted that these web-shooters will be particularly beneficial in the Week 11 Quests in Battle Royale mode.
But the Spider-Verse celebration isn’t limited to outfits and pickaxes. The game also marks the return of the bouncy Spider-Man Web-Shooters, this time redesigned to match Miles Morales’ suit colors.
Players can discover these web-shooters on the ground or trade Bars with the character Spider-Gwen to acquire them.
Epic Games, the developers behind Fortnite, have hinted that these web-shooters will be particularly beneficial in the Week 11 Quests in Battle Royale mode.
Along with XP, one of the quests offers a unique reward, the Silk & Cologne (EI8HT version) Lobby Track, a tune from the upcoming Spider-Verse movie soundtrack.
Fortnite’s integration of Spider-Verse doesn’t come as a surprise considering the recent wave of licensed crossovers associated with the Spider-Verse.
From Burger King to Air Jordan Chicagos, the Spider-Verse franchise has left its imprint far and wide, making Fortnite’s latest Spider-Verse update a fitting addition to the trend.
As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One gears up for its theatrical release, Fortnite’s new update serves to enhance the gaming experience for Spider-Verse fans, adding an exciting layer of immersion into the Spider-Verse world, right in time for the new film’s premiere.
Whether a dedicated fan of the Spider-Verse, a casual Fortnite player, or someone who enjoys both, this update offers a fresh and engaging twist to the battle royale game, bringing the beloved Spider-Man characters to life in the Fortnite universe.
