Key Takeaways
  • SZA has secured her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 spot with "Kill Bill," a hit that has spent eight weeks at No. 2.
  • The release of a remix featuring Doja Cat helped "Kill Bill" climb the charts.
  • "Kill Bill" experienced a boost in almost all major metrics feeding into the Hot 100, including radio airplay audience impressions, streams, and sales.
  • Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj's "Princess Diana" debuted at No. 4 on the Hot 100, while Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma's "Ella Baila Sola" became the first regional Mexican top five hit in the chart's archives.

After a long and arduous journey, SZA has finally achieved her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with the chart-topping hit “Kill Bill.”

The song reached the pinnacle of the Hot 100 chart this week, thanks in large part to the release of a remix featuring Doja Cat.

Although the remix did not account for the majority of the song’s overall consumption during the tracking week, the updated version has helped “Kill Bill” gain traction across multiple metrics contributing to the Hot 100.

Significant Metrics Boost

“Kill Bill” experienced a boost in almost all major metrics feeding into the Hot 100. The song rose one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 on the Radio Songs chart, reaching 86.5 million radio airplay audience impressions last week.

It also climbed from No. 4 to No. 3 on the Streaming Songs ranking, with 28.3 million streams. The most significant percentage gain week-over-week was in sales, with the track jumping from No. 36 to No. 8 on Digital Song Sales, selling 5,000 downloads.

Eight Weeks at No. 2

The mega-hit spent eight weeks at its previous high point of No. 2, repeatedly missing out on the top spot.

However, this week, SZA dethroned Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” to secure her first No. 1 position on the Hot 100 chart.

Drake’s attempt to overtake Wallen with his new single “Search & Rescue” also fell short by just one spot.

The remixed version of “Kill Bill” marks the second time SZA and Doja Cat have collaborated on a hit single. Previously, Doja Cat enlisted SZA for her track “Kiss Me More,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 chart and earned the duo their first Grammys.

Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola” also made history as the first regional Mexican top five hit in the chart’s archives, soaring from No. 10 to No. 5.
